LCI Control Modernization

The DIRECTO-MATIC Load Commutated Inverter (LCI) control modernization represents an innovative solution to increase the life, functionality, and serviceability of existing DIRECTO-MATIC LCI drives.By replacing the existing DIRECTO-MATIC control module with the TM GE Automation LCI control upgrade, the customer can use the existing power bridge to take advantage of the same control technology advancements that have been incorporated into the current production TM GE Automation LCI drive, without the power bridge and installation costs.

The control modernization replaces the existing proprietary, wire wrapped, backplane system utilizing 80286 technology with a Versa Module Eurocard (VME) design, incorporating a 300Mhz processor with less than half the number of circuit boards. In addition, the modernization allows control flexibility and increased diagnostic ability including the use of the TM GE Control System Toolbox and connectivity for remote diagnostics from the GE OnSite Support remote monitoring and diagnostics center.
